Brandon Mooney
Head Men's Coach
Brandon is in his 2nd season as the Head Men's Bowling Coach at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater following the retirement of Shawn Wochner at the end of the 2021-22 season. Brandon is a 2021 graduate of UW-Whitewater and was a member of the bowling program all four years.
Brandon had quite the journey to the helm of the program. Brandon was highly recruited out of college, and then barely made the Competitive Team his freshman year. Despite being JV all but one tournament his first year, he continued to work hard, learn as much as he could, and gained experience whenever he could. This lead him to become a varsity player second semester of his sophomore year, and he never looked back from there. Some of Brandon's accolades include being a member of both the 2019 and 2021 Club National Championship teams, he was named the 2021 Club National Championships Most Valuable Player, he earned 7 additional All-Tournament Team finishes, was a 2019-20 NCBCA and IBMA Honorable Mention All-American as well as a CTBCA Club First Team All-American, in 2017-18 he was named the GLBC Conference Rookie of the Year and then in 2019-20 he was named the GLBC Conference Player of the Year. Brandon also served as the team Secretary his sophomore year before serving two years as team President. Brandon looks to continue the success the program has had the last decade while creating his own culture and reimagining the possibilities for the Warhawks. Personally, Brandon is a full-time, physical education teacher in Wisconsin. |
