Warhawks Finish 5th-6th at ITCs
The Warhawks 2023 ITC run comes to an end after a 5th-6th finish in Brandon Mooney's first season as a Head Coach. During the 24 games of qualifying, the Warhawks were able to set an ITC record-breaking total pinfall of 5365 putting them in first going into the bracket.
For the first two rounds of match play, we managed to beat #16 Trine 4-1 as well as #9 Ottawa-Kan. 4-2. Unfortunately the following day we fell short to eventual runner-up St. Ambrose 1-4 and then a heartbreaking 3-4 loss to Tennessee Southern in the elimination bracket ending our run for the Helmer Cup. Garrett Meadows was awarded with an All-Tournament Team spot after his performance.
To summarize the 2022-23 season, the Warhawks had 5 tournament wins with one of them being ITC Sectionals (2nd in program history), along with being the 2023 GLBC Conference Playoff Champions. We had 4 different players earn a total of 8 All-Tournament honors. We also had 5 players earn GLBC All-Conference honors as well as 4 players earn Club All-American honors. Drake Bazzy was awarded with a NCBCA All-American Honorable Mention.
